Philippians 1:9-11

Paul’s prayer for the church of Philippi was that as believers their love would grow in wisdom, spiritual fruitfulness, moral judgement and clarity.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,

so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ–to the glory and praise of God.

It should also be our desire to grow in knowledge and discernment so we can determine what it is that God would have us to do. It is a simple, but powerful prayer that we can keep handy and refer to often in our spiritual walk. Just simply looking to grow in love, discern what is best, and be filled with a spirit of righteousness.
