Time Is Precious
The older I get the more I realize how valuable and precious time is to us. While reading on Substack the other day, I came across the quote about time, and it truly resonated with me. When we make time for someone or something, it means we care because our time is a finite resource. How and where we spend it truly matters.
Pay Attention to How You Allocate Your Time
“Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.” (Psalms 39:4-5 NIV)
It is for this reason that we should be good stewards of our time. Time we waste is time we can never get back. Therefore, it is imperative that we make time for people and things that bring joy and fulfillment to our lives.
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalms 90:12 NIV)
“Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
(Ephesians 5:15-16 NIV)
My Prayer
God help me to be a good steward of my time. I pray for wisdom to recognize how I am spending my time and to make sure I am using my time wisely as a means to uplift your kingdom, help others and shine a light on your goodness and mercy. I also pray that I allocate my time to things that bring value and fulfillment to my life and to those whom I love and care about. It is in your name, I pray. Amen.
