“But Jesus was matter-0f-fact: ‘yes–and if you embrace this kingdom life and don’t doubt God, you’ll not only do minor feats like i did to the fig tree, but also triump over huge obstacles. this mountain, for instance, you’ll tell, ‘go jump in the lake,’ and it will jump.’” (Matthew 21:21 MSG)
Embrace the Power God Gives to You
i don’t think we realize the power which comes from God through our relationship and fellowship with Him. Through faith we have immense power. we just have to tap into it.
I recently watched a lifetime movie entitled, “Finding Faith”. in one of the scenes a father pulls eight boys from an overturned vehicle while in immense pain and suffering himself due to the accident. How many times have we heard about a situation like this on the news? Folks show incredible strength in situations that seem almost impossible. That’s the type of power we get from being a believer in God.
When I read the above scripture, I begin to understand the power God grants to us as members of his family of believers. telling a mountain to move and it happens, that’s supremacy which only God can give. That’s power beyond my comprehension. It is a power you tap into as you walk hand-in-hand with God.
Activate the Power
We can only activate this power through faith in God. Our faith; however, cannot be clouded by doubt, not in God’s word or in ourselves. We must proclaim and stand on God’s word. That’s what affords us the ability to harness power which can command a mountain to move.
“Because you’re not yet taking God seriously,’ said Jesus. ‘the simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.’” (Matthew 17:10 MSG)
A Prayer for Increased Faith
God strengthen our faith in you so that we can tap into power that only you can give. Help us to understand that we cannot harness this power if we carry around doubt in you and in ourselves. Help us to realize that it is by having a God-centered life we can move mountains. Amen.
